Amplus One Carmenère

The word ‘Amplus’ comes from Latin for important, sophisticated, distinguished, and honorable. This line represents the union of tradition and distinction of its Italian ancestors with the innovation of new times. These are modern wines with tremendous complexity and elegance, with whites that feature all the potential of the new Leyda Valley and reds with the tradition of Peumo in the Cachapoal Valley.

Valle del Cachapoal, Peumo, Chile
Variety
75% Carmenère, 20% Syrah, 5% Carignan.
Harvest
Hand picked in small, 15 kg (33 lb) boxes from April 20 through May 10, depending on the varietal.
Aging
12 months in French oak barrels (70% new 30% second use).
 
 
Color
Deep violet-ruby-red.
Aroma
Expressive and long, recalling red and black cherries, prunes and a touch of tobacco and pencil led.
Palate
Well-structured and powerful, with well-rounded tannins that lead to a voluminous and seductive finish.
Pairing Suggestion
Drink with pork, chicken breast and turkey with cream sauce. Also ideal with pastas and smoked cheeses.
