Rivalta

Rivalta is a small town in the Italian Piamonte and the birthplace of our founder, ‘Don’ Pedro Pavone-Voglino. This wine is a tribute to this daring pioneer and reflects the special character and complexity of our old vine Carmenère, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah in Peumo. Rivalta shows the very best of Santa Ema, a wine for important occasions and with tremendous potential for aging.

Origin:

Vineyards in Peumo, Cachapoal Valley, Chile.

Varieties:

47% Carmenère, 18% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Syrah, 20% Carignan

Harvest:

Hand picked in small 15 kg (33 lb) boxes from April 20 through May 10, depending on the variety.

Notes of the Winemaker

Deep ruby-red.

Aroma:

Intense aromas of black fruit, blueberries, and blackberries with black pepper and a touch of mint and chocolate that lend elegance.

Highly concentrated, complex, and well-balanced, with round tannins and a lush, velvety texture. A powerfully expressive wine with a deliciously long finish.

Pairing Suggestion:

Drink with lamb and game, such as venison or boar. Delightful with duck magret with spices and chutneys. Also perfect with pepper steak.
